Over 40 years ago Phil McNeish began a tool and die apprenticeship. He learned the precision machining trade in a shop filled with journeyman tool makers from Germany. Immersed in a culture of precision and personal pride in one's craft, he learned the basic skills he would carry with him for four decades of precision machining.

In those years he has had the opportunity to build multiple cavity plastic injection molds, molds with precisely timed cam actions, complex unscrewing molds and single cavity insert molds. Throughout his history as a toolmaker he has also become experienced in the design and building of tooling related to the molding process. These include cooling fixtures, end of arm tooling for robotics and fixtures for secondary machining operations. He also spent a considerable amount of time building automation projects for a number of different industries.

As president of McNeish Precision Tool & Design, Phil now carries this wealth of experience with him as a business owner. This history of precision machining is now being passed on to the next generation of tool makers and apprentices that work with him to satisfy the needs of our many clients.
